Bathtub Photograph

Lending both my model and my assistance to teen-hood art-class friend Veerle Frissen for the latest picture in her project titled “Reculer pour mieux sauter”, wherein little boats were made out of eggs and sail-pics to float in a foamy bathtub that holds a male blond eating a sandwich; truly a surreal experience for all of us.

And Now for Some Cover-Art

Extravagant gothic floral design for facebook timeline and app buttons

Since the transaction to timeline, I hadn’t had the occasion or inspiration for justifying the blog with a proper facebook representation. Only when starting to work on it as an actual book cover (landscaped, for the digit world), came the realization, that to honor the rather bland facebook platform with all various aspects of the Opus Relinque situation, it would require a perhaps somewhat over-compensatingly gracious interpretation.

Documented, indeed.

The new card layout replaces the actual contact information to the back-side, opening up space for clearer diversification between the work and the person, now including the blog’s featured tagline, emphasising on the difference with commentary-oriented web-logs in denoting Opus Relinque as an active artist’s medium.

These towering thresholds depicting the outfits as worn for Gala Nocturna 2011 took quite a while to make, tuning solely mathematical transformations of photographed images, marking my first venture into print art.

End of Chapter / Retrospective

When embarking on this blogging adventure I did not know where this platform was going to take me, but now that I’m concluding the first year of sharing these unearthly visions of mine, I feel strengthened in the validity of my designs and proud in managing this unequivocally structured weblog.

With 246 posts, containing 430 photographs, divided over nine distinct categories, I consider these pages to be a commendable collection of my thoughts and efforts throughout the past year and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to continue writing these little articles as I am learning my way through creating these things that I want to see made.

And so I leave you here with my last work for 2011; this thespian depiction of the Vampire Outfit, making a promise to return in February, charged with plenteous fresh ideas.
