On Locking

Badly cut raffling red velvetTrimmed and locked silver Velvet

Not disclosing my considerations about the supplier shipping out their merchandise in such disheveled state, the thick one-millimeter wefts nestled within the thousands of minuscule warp-threads making up this gorgeous brocade are practically predisposed to raffling if not secured before any work is done to it.

Leaping Layers

The architecture of overlying layers is what shapes the Green Shirt; tailoring the garment through vertical protrusions that cover the horizontal bands’ ends, rendering a suggestive outlook of compository dimension.

Cooling Upgrades

Showing a bit of labor from a different kind in augmenting the home file-server system with a hard-disc-drive stacker module, spanning my spinners throughout the full height of the case whilst at the same time creating a proper airflow, reducing internal temperatures with a whopping 35% and finally silencing that less-then-quiet PSU-buzz that commonly tended to come up during my writing for this site.

Working in Double

Green Veil and tafeta combined as a single material

Combining multiple fabrics into one, when inducted as a form of accentuation it is one thing, but when constructing a complete garment, like the Green Shirt, out of such composite material, extraneous precautions such as locking all pieces individually into baste and keeping their threads aligned into the seams, start forming quite a challenge; in this case, however perhaps, slightly uplifted by the two-layer attribute at direct disposal for holdings folds in place and hiding seam allowances without the introduction of extra lining.

When surface-contact disallows flow abundance to fall into natural godet, a few well-located silk strings may serve satisfactorily, sewn in between the finished hems invisible during movement, but keeping just enough tension to guide the more voluminous top layer into an even division over the narrow base.
