Fashioning Slits

Fastening fabric and facing towards the Red Shirt‘s front vents is ideally done at this stage, right before starting to attach the lining.

Adding Interfacing

Mystery Project Reinforced Seems

“Experimental approach” made me understand I had to apply strips of fusible interfacing on both sides of all of the bias-cut seams within the “Mystery Project” if I wished to continue working on them, as not doing so gave the seams free roam to stretch during all further craft-ship, which could only have resulted in an unbecoming indolence and terribly crooked stitchings throughout the project.

Patchwork

The connection of four curved pieces into a single spot is something that takes both patience and precision.

Assemblage

Assembling the Grey Blouse

Putting together the separately produced components of the Grey Blouse shows real promise of what the final result will look like.

The sleeves are finished and ready to be joined, the collar needs minor adjustment before it can be stitched on, the side-naps in the blouse’s body work marvelously well, and with a matching undershirt (for preventing see-through color-differentiation) in production, this original item may soon move on to its finishing touches.

Presswork

Pressed folds

Having fixated the leap layers securely, they need to be carefully ironed into flat folds without the stitching pressing through.

Having to do this on the fabric’s right side there is little room for correction, which gives these Red Shirt sleeves another batch of bastework to be done on them.
