Buying Fabrics (latex)

A well-matched variety in colors and qualities of high-stretch latex, ideal for constructing parts of outfits that have to fit skintight, or for tensely enclosing molded plastic shapes giving them a homegrown leathery feel.

Introducing Color

Providing imminent comfort whilst upholding ordain semblance; for the greater span of life’s years, my personal guise auto-restricted itself to solemn black attire. When pursuing the finer fabrics for my own creations, however, I regularly caught my eye wandering off to differently toned dyes, some, even bright or non-subtle, ooccasionally, an outstanding tint from a woven range, left an impression.

Despite being generally vexatious to the monotonous train of thought, admittedly, the injection of color does institude new dimension to any work, associating it with the emotion of a thermal distance. Applied consistently, the added layer of saturated contrast can resolve a deeper dark expression, unachievable without such added pigmentation.

Incorporating elucidated polychromasia in my (now crayon-colored) concepts, I accommodate the finer shades into my wardrobe, spiking distinct tints onto dark bases, altogether suggestive for the primary outfits, pertaining a more outspoken nuance for the secundary ones, regardless; 2011′s concepts which will feature a lot of red.

Accompanying picture exhibits two pieces of similarly colored satin, one from high grade silk thread and the other made from mid grade polyester fibre, at first glance looking considerably alike, though their prospects aren’t; One is purposed to construct the Red Shirt, the other will serve as lining.

Whether my camera captures a superiority in fall and color wealth brought forth by the all natural silk, sufficing to justify its expense is not the most relevant issue, as preparing the shirt out of the polyester would inhibit a strenuous process, never accumulating the finest result, due to its structural limitations.

The choice between having a distinguished shirt out of expensive material, or an overall lesser quality one for an increased number of bad-spirited working hours, appears an easy one to make, as in the end, labour is still the project’s highest cost.

Buying Fabrics

I was quite lucky earlier this week when finding the silks I was intending to buy for this year’s shirts to be 15% off in the apparently still ongoing winter’s sale, leaving me a little bit perplexed at first as I had never expected them to include the high-caliber fabrics they carry all year through into the season’s discount, but making me gladly accept the gesture that made a most welcome contribution accumulated over the meters.
