After one of the WGT shows I had the pleasure of running into virtuoso violinist Pete Johansen, within the Gothic-Metal world best known for his contributions to The Sins of Thy Beloved, Tristania and Sirenia CDs, and though I don’t hide how important these works, and especially his additions are to me, it felt alleviating finally being able to tell the man who redefined music to me after I diverted from the classical path myself.

Oktober Decadence
Paris, Halloween’s eve…. a setting, perfect for apraising the still developing Monday outfits at the windmill, with the decor of our charming art-nouveau hotel just a little too remindful of that certain elevator scene.
Drawing Patterns
The patterns forming body and sleeve for the velvet-jersey raglan blouse, due to the high stretch factor both perfectly cuttable as big single pieces, using the roulette wheel to transfer seamlines for later processing.
The Picnic Blanket
A distinct example of a work that came into existence for the lack in finding something suitable, the Picnic Blanket - previously referred to as the “mystery project” – was devised towards hightened sitting comfort as well as design quality.
Bolstered on a padded, impermeable base, the black velvet-brocade frame encovers the construction in which one of differently colored panels of the same cloth can be mounted by the use of attached velcro-strips, allowing a rotation cycle of main blanket colors every three years.
After Wave Gotik Treffen 2011
With Leipzig feeling a little more like home, and home a bit less homey every year, I am with certain sorrow to find this year’s Treffen already over. Perhaps its for this lingering feeling that, though the intended purpose for this blog has now been met, I see no reason for its discontinuation.
If anything, meeting so many people already aware of the work I am investing, and witnessing them recognise individual pieces from the outfits, the success of this blog and its prospective use to kindred spirits are all the more clear to me.
However, to further keep this blog on a daily update some changes are in place; one being a slight generalisation into other fields I work in, another the possible introduction of the occasional guest-writer, but more evidently will be enhancing this platform to support the growing reader-interactivity, making sure the best is yet to come.
To all new readers I wish a pleasant view of this site and would like to use the opportunity to point out the comments function to express your thoughts on individual posts, and to use the new/upcoming contact-section (or the email on my card) to channel me directly.
