The removability of the coat’s gilet-closure turned out to be an unanticipated challenge after several zipper experiments proved unsatisfactory, prompting the decision of affixing the two halves directly onto the coat’s facing and have them bend inwards instead, meeting them with stay buttons and closure loops on the lining, forming an actually more practical method of switching between the design‘s ‘open’ and ‘closed’ renditions.
Cutting Fabric | Production |
This instance of the routined cutting process proves that with some clever arrangement only very little material has to be wasted, letting the fixed patterns guide the fabric usage to outline the variable ones, shows the shape of the inset pocket being defined by the existing short short pieces, leaving as much as possible of this supple wool material to remain, supporting the possibility of making an addendum piece within the next years.
The Scarlet Cape | Revelation |
Striking Adornations | Finishing |
The collar upgrade on the Cathedral Cape will be joined with a new level of decoration; using an alternating diamond-link shackle chain for a basis, I’ll be constructing weighty draperies in between strongly articulated ornamental buttons, whose centers I can embed with a rhinestone to be chosen from this limited selection.
Furry Leg-ins | Technics |
After having taken some first exploratory steps into cyber territory last year, I wish to continue in that direction through a more architectural aproach over this time, for instance by augmenting a pair of very short shorts with plush legwarmers that emerge from the waistband, hug the outer sides of the legs and widen out from the knees, offering surface for working in another set of (this time, upscaling) glow sticks, while leaving angular portions of naked skin visible to be shaded by nets or leggings.
